New phishing campaign targeting university email accounts

We have seen a rise in phishing emails targeting university accounts over the past week. If you receive one, do not click any links and report it straight away.

What the emails look like

  • They claim your mailbox is full or your account will be suspended
  • The sender name looks like IT Services, but the actual address is external
  • The link goes to a login page that closely copies the real one
  • They usually arrive late in the day or over a weekend

What to do

  • Do not click the link or enter your password anywhere
  • Report the email using our incident report form
  • Delete it once reported
  • If you have already entered your password, change it immediately and report it

If you are unsure whether an email is genuine, our guidance on spotting phishing emails will help.
